I think this means something but I’m not sure what.

Last week I was a guest at a formal black -tie dinner at a yacht club. This is not a picture of me, but it is a very, very close proximity. Really : )

The dinner was filled with wealthy, silver-haired, impeccably-groomed white men and their sequined spouses. The former leaders of the yacht club, the “commodores,” wore their commemorative jackets, which looked like a hand-me down from an Ivy League fraternity. We ate aged steak, drank fine wine and danced to a wedding band from Atlanta.

And this is what I thought: “This is so pretentious. This is SO not me. If the people on {grow} saw me like this they would have a fit.”

Isn’t that weird? I have internalized you. What does this mean???

I think you are walking your walk. You frequently say, here and in other outlets, that {grow} is a real communiity to you and you appreciate the input of each and every person who takes the time to comment. We are not just avitars and twitter handles to you but actualy human beings. You treat us with respect and have earned our respect in return. Kudos for creating an actual community in a virtual space.

IMHO (with apologies to my daughter, who states, “Dad, no one ever says THAT!”), it merely shows your true colors as a real, thoughtful, and intelligent human being. I can only imagine you felt as out of place as the proverbial person of ill repute in church (did my best to make that as PC [something else I'm sure no one says] as possible), and for that (forgive me), LOL!
