Reality check

Today my wife and I took my 8-year-old mentee Elijah on a hike, as we enjoyed a Spring-like day here in Tennessee.

On the way home, Elijah noticed a copy of my book, The Tao of Twitter on the back seat. He was surprised that I had written a book and started reading it.

After a few minutes, he said, “Wow, this is just like reading your diarrhea.”

My wife thought a moment, and said “Oh, I think you mean it’s like reading his DIARY.”

Me: “No … perhaps he had it right the first time!”

Great story Mark. The amazing wisdom of a child can so easily penatrate even our often thick headedness and open up new truth. For this one bit of pre-ad wisdom you may have to stretch just a bit so as not to be infected with potty mouth syndrom.

Ok, here’s my stretch. Don’t we all need to, at times, have a good cleaning out. Sometimes it’s the back hall closet that has stuff unused for 4 years, but other times it’s the stack of incomplete projects laying on the desktop of our pc. Some of them missed their moment, the idea didn’t quite qet captured before it was gone. Or some just didn’t get finished in time… the trend was over and it was time to move on. Remove some of them or post them as museings and go on. The ones you remove put in a check out later box cuz ya never know when the “moment” for that creation will return.

New things are coming. Of that I’m certain. I’m also certain that your role in adding character to our corner of this massive new universe of connections will be significant.

Thank you for the example you are setting and in advance for the new things in my life that you have had a part in.

  • Awesome post – I got a great laugh. I am looking forward to reading your diarrhea – er, book.

  • LoL!!! Mark your sense of humor knows you to crack me up!
He must be proud of ya! I know I am ….. “diarrhea” or not 😛

    Great laugh;-)

As I believe that Mark knows how to uncover the mystery of Twitter I thought to come up with my own book review including a short video.

    Enjoy the video and reading,

  • Mark, just finished a quick read through your book and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to figure out this thing called Twitter and how it applies to ones business life. It is a very easy read and very informative. I enjoyed the examples you used and how yoy made valuable connections using Twitter. I am now going to go through it again and try some of the steps and view the links you suggest in the book. Thanks for writing it.

  • Great Al! Thank you!
